Learning Program & Practice

A confident start. A curious childhood.

How we help your child settle, learn, build relationships and grow. Explore the guidance that connects nursery learning with family life.

Learning together

Guidance for every stage

These summaries help you find the information most relevant to your family. They do not replace the full policies or the individual arrangements agreed for your child.

Admissions, attendance, collection & fees
01

Settling in

A gentle beginning, at your child’s pace.

What parents need to know
  • Before your child starts, meet the key person, explore the nursery and share routines, health needs, preferences and comforts through the All About Me profile.
  • Agree a gradual settling-in plan with the key person. Short visits and supported separations build towards the agreed session; the pace is adjusted to your child’s response.
  • The policy’s one-to-three-week schedule is a guide, not a deadline. If your child remains distressed, the family and key person pause progression and repeat an earlier stage.
  • Bring an agreed comfort object and a family photograph. Keep goodbyes warm and consistent, and remain reachable by phone throughout the first week.
  • Expect daily handovers during settling in. Room changes and moves to another setting are planned with families to support continuity.

Learning & development

Purposeful play, hands-on discovery and growing independence.

What parents need to know
  • Children learn through play, sensory exploration, practical materials, language, creativity and movement in a prepared Montessori environment.
  • Educators follow children’s interests and developmental needs, offering choices within clear, safe boundaries rather than expecting every child to learn at the same pace.
  • Daily experiences include opportunities for Arabic language, UAE culture and identity, and respect for different family backgrounds.
  • Activities and resources are adapted to help children with different abilities and additional learning needs participate meaningfully.
  • Share your child’s interests and discoveries at home. The team uses observations and family input to plan meaningful next steps.
03

Positive behaviour guidance

Helping children understand feelings, relationships and boundaries.

What parents need to know
  • Adults use calm, respectful language, clear routines and age-appropriate choices to help children build self-regulation. Behaviour is understood in the context of the child’s needs.
  • Children are supported to name feelings, ask for help, solve conflicts and repair harm without being labelled or shamed.
  • Physical punishment, humiliation, unsupervised isolation and withholding basic needs are prohibited. Apologies and hugs are not forced.
  • Families are informed privately on the same day about biting or bullying incidents involving their child. Other children’s identities remain confidential.
  • When behaviour concerns recur, the team works with parents on a consistent home–nursery support plan and discusses further support where needed.
04

Inclusion & additional support

Belonging, participation and support built around the child.

What parents need to know
  • Discuss your child’s strengths, needs and any relevant assessments with the nursery. Sensitive information is treated confidentially.
  • The Inclusion Lead coordinates support with educators and families, including reasonable adjustments to activities, resources, routines and the environment.
  • Where a personalised approach is needed, parents help develop a Documented Learning Plan with clear goals and review it with the team.
  • Parents can raise a developmental concern at any time. The team gathers observations, discusses support and considers specialist input where appropriate.
  • Ask about the support available, any proposed individual assistance and arrangements for transitions before confirming your child’s placement.
Discuss your child’s needs
05

Observations & progress reports

A thoughtful picture of how your child learns and grows.

What parents need to know
  • Educators observe children during play, routines and social interactions, using what they notice to plan learning and support.
  • Your child’s learning journal brings together dated observations and evidence such as work samples, notes and photographs where consent applies.
  • The policy provides for at least two assessment reports and two parent conferences each academic year. Reports are in Arabic and English and describe strengths, areas of focus and next steps.
  • Share observations from home and ask questions about progress. Concerns are discussed with you and used to plan support, not to label your child.
  • Learning records are confidential. You may request to see your child’s file; the policy provides access within three working days with a team member available to explain.
06

Parent engagement & communication

A continuing conversation between home and nursery.

What parents need to know
  • Use the parent app for daily care updates and nursery-approved channels for questions, notices and urgent communication.
  • The policy sets daily care updates, weekly classroom updates and a monthly newsletter, alongside scheduled reports and parent meetings.
  • Staff aim to reply within one working day, or acknowledge your message if a full response needs longer. For an urgent concern, call the nursery.
  • Formal communication is in Arabic and English. Let the team know if you need translation, an alternative format or help accessing communication channels.
  • Families can contribute through surveys, feedback, workshops and shared activities. Please keep contact details current and respect other families’ privacy.
