Our Nursery

Welcome to The Montessori Children's Garden Nursery

The Montessori Children’s Garden has been purposefully designed to honor and follow the life’s work of Dr. Maria Montessori, who developed a philosophy of education that puts the child at its heart.

We provide a home-like environment, where children are nurtured and guided according to each child’s unique potential.

Our Teachers posses a love and respect for children, with a deep understanding of the principles and practice of the Montessori philosophy. The teacher is the link between the child and the prepared environment and introduces children to concepts and skills following their natural development.

Our rooms are beautifully designed with carefully chosen materials and resources that follow the child rather than a one size fits all educational approach.

The Montessori Curriculum and program is sensitive to the needs of children by providing both routines and freedom for children to explore their interests.

It is our aim to work in partnership with families to build a link between home and the Nursery.
To share the spirit of the Montessori approach in order to help you, as parents gain an understanding of the amazing potential of your child.

“The child is both hope and promise for mankind” Dr. Maria Montessori”

Nido

Montessori Nido classrooms have 9-10 children each ranging in age from 8 weeks to 18 months.

The word ‘Nido’ is derived from the Italian word meaning ‘nest’.
Nido provides a home-like environment for infants where babies feel loved and secure while exploring new experiences.
Rooms are comforting, warm and inviting with care being taken to provide a nurturing and calm atmosphere to enhance the development of the young child.
The purpose of the Nido program is to facilitate the developmental milestones of infants by providing activities and materials that encourage movement, exploration, and sensory experiences and language development.

The Nido environment supports:

All activities and interactions are carried out in a respectful, patient, and gentle manner, with caregivers trained to be keenly attentive to the needs of the babies.

In the Nido class, all your child’s natural cycles — like feeding and sleeping — are followed to develop a strong sense of security and trust in their carers, as they learn that their needs will always be taken care of.

In the Montessori Nido, we observe your baby’s natural cycle of feeding, sleeping, and biological functions, and provide for his needs on his own schedule.

All activities and interactions are carried out in a respectful, patient, and gentle manner, with caregivers trained to be keenly attentive to the needs of the babies.

Self-feeding is one of the early ways that your baby can practice independence in the area of self-care.

Our Montessori guides will gently support your baby to learn to do things for themselves.

Children's House

The Children's House (2.5 up to 4 years)

Around the age of 2.5 to 3 years, children from the Infant Community move into the Children’s House. Each community (or class) in The Children’s House has a carefully prepared environment that support, nurture and develops the child’s natural curiosity. There are five areas of learning and development in each community:
Teachers in each community will present the children each day with new activities and experiences, either as individual lessons or in small groups. These activities are guided by the children’s interests and also by their developmental needs. The children are also free to choose from many of the educational and fun activities provided during their day. Having the freedom to make individual choices builds confidence and develops the child’s self-esteem.
